What are enzymes?

Enzymes are products that either begin or enhance the speed of chemical reactions. Present in the cells of plants and animals, they regulate biochemical reactions in both active and inactive forms. They are specific with respect to their functions and do only that which they were designed to do.

Why use non-animal produced enzymes over animal/pancreatic enzymes?

The non-animal Vegetarian enzymes are more pure, very proactive, and react faster within their specific task. Animal/pancreatic enzymes, although designed to react the same way, may cause several negative reactions. This is due to the fact they may bring with them inherently non-compatible elements from their originations to your pet. These products generally carry a warning label regarding possible side effects from their use.

Why TOTAL-ZYMES®?

The market place is rife with products to aid in issues of every kind. As with most things, you usually do get what you pay for. Unfortunately, many products do use ingredients that will help in those issues, yet they do not put an amount of truly sufficient therapeutic levels. This does not mean they wont help, but they may not help enough. Other products may use very good amounts of a couple of items, and compromise elsewhere. At NWC Naturals Pet Products LLC. , we decided to use every element necessary for any food your pet may consume. We also made sure we put more than enough to do the task completely. In addition, the body takes minerals from itself when this process of enzyme activity takes place, so we added our L.E.A.D.S®. system of minerals so the process would be complete unto itself. We have also used the best primary source ingredients so as not to compromise our product performance. Compare Enzyme Products, we are the only one with 16 plant based enzymes

Is Human Grade better for my pet?

It’s not only the high quality ingredients but the way they are manufactured. All of our pet products are formulated for pets and their specific needs. When formulating our enzymes we looked at least 100 different pet foods on the market. With our expertise we developed a product that is far superior than the rest. How does Total-Zymes® for Pets take the stress off my pets pancreas?

Pancreatitis in cats and dogs can be a big problem. The primary benefits of enzymes is in shifting a portion of the digestive burden from the pancreas to using the Vegetarian enzymes in the stomach and intestional tract. Continued supplementation over a period of days activates a feedback system to the pancreas, signaling it to decrease production of its enzymes. This allows the pancreas, to conserve its cellular machinery for production of insulin and glucagon; which are important in blood glucose maintenance. Thus helping take the stress of the pancreas.

Constipation in my dog or cat. Can probiotics and enzymes help?

Total-Biotics® and Total-Zymes® for pets can help support a good bowel movement. Probiotics are responsible for controlling the moisture content of the bowels. With the supplementation of probiotics this will help let things move along. This is not a laxative effect but is part of the natural balance of the colon. Digestive enzymes will help digest the food in the stomach liquefying it and let it move along easily.

Are there possible side effects of Probiotics and Enzymes in pets?

Sometimes you have to think of using enzyme and probiotics for the first time it can be like a food change.

Probiotics and or enzymes sometimes can also can cause nausea or vomiting. When the health of an animal has been compromised for some time, things can start out worse before getting better. This happens in a few pets. Just like people they can have a “cleansing” or a “healing crisis”. Experiencing digestive upset with probiotic or enzymes use be related to sometimes by the feeding of a poor quality commercial pet food that is hard to break down and digest. What happens is the food you feed your pet moves slowly through the intestines allowing some fecal plaque to adhere to your dog’s intestinal walls. Once it gets a toehold, it may thicken over time. Even fairly young animals can experience some blockage as a result of this build up. Probiotics and enzymes will slowly begin to dissolve the fecal matter, and during this clearing/cleansing process, pathogens and microbes that were covered up with layers of fecal matter will be exposed and can cause episodes of diarrhea or vomiting. Depending on the buildup, it may take a few months before it is completely removed. To help restore your animal’s health and happiness we suggest a healthier, more digestible diet and reducing the dosage of probiotics and enzymes to a level tolerated by your animal, building back up gradually as your animal begins to feel better.

Why does my pet’s stool get smaller with enzymes?

A dog or cats digestive system is designed to process only raw food, primarily meat. In the wild no dog or cat would Bar-B-Que their food. Cats and dogs digestive systems are short and food eaten should have a relatively short transit time. Raw food contains all the enzymes needed to digest itself, thus it digests quickly and completely resulting in a small stool. Kibble, canned or other cooked food is lacking the enzymes to digest quickly or completely. When Total-Zymes® is added to cooked food the food is properly digested quickly and efficiently resulting in smaller stools and better health.

Why is it so important to supplement my pet’s diet with Omega 3 fatty acids?

Today, our pets are receiving more Omega 6 fatty acids in their diets than necessary. The cattle meat used in most pet foods contains an unnecessary amount of Omega 6 fatty acids because the cattle are now being fed grains instead of grass. Too many Omega 6 fatty acids can cause arthritis, allergies, skin disorders and obesity in our pets. Supplementing our pets’ diets with Omega 3 fatty acids will help to normalize this imbalance. Krill Oil absorbs quickly into the system, providing benefits such as agility, decreased inflammation, and can help maintain a healthy heart, brain and nervous system. Ask your veterinarian about how Krill Oil can benefit your pet!

Isn’t fish oil a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids too?

Yes. However, Krill oil contains a higher concentration of Omega 3 fatty acids, and also contains Astaxanthin, which is an added nutritional benefit. It does not contain mercury and therefore there is no added risk of heavy metal poisoning. In addition, Krill Oil contains highly bioavailable EPA and DHA which can aid in cognitive function, and help fight mood swings and inflammation. Krill Oil is FOUR times more potent than Fish Oil and therefore has four times the benefit!
